An ordinary day

I am having lunch with myself, in my cubicle, in front of the LCD monitor.

I enjoy this kind of bitterly lonely feeling, so carefree and can do whatever I want.

Today is just one of the normal days as usual, no big surprise, dive into the job.

Last night I met Lok Lok B, he spoke a lot to me but in fragmented sentences (he is a less than 3 years old little baby), he seemed to tell me something very important but I could not guess. May be I should take a short term course of Infant Language 1001.

My allergic skin is recovering, but two little red dots still hooked on my face.

My whole body is bloating, even the face, I can feel the water under my skin.

To be frank, I feel so annoying, do not know what the reason is, maybe the PMS plays tricks on me.

Maybe I could take a nap, I may feel better afterward.

relaxing weekend

The Easter holiday kicked off yesterday, I had a relaxing good rest.

On Thursday, I visited Dephne and her new born baby in hospital. When I looked at this little boy, I wanted to praise god's miracle, new life is extraordinary amazing, and I feel that mothers are the bravest in the world.

We stayed a night a Ville de Cascade, and then went back to our home yesterday morning, and we brought little Lok Lok B and Gima with us. I could tell Lok Lok enjoyed the time so much, we had lunch in a Japanese restaurant, and we ordered the Gil steam rice for him. After the lunch we stayed at home, Lok Lok watched the Disney 'Sing along Song' and played the pizza hut set toy, then mother-in-law picked him up around 4pm.

Jeff and I made the dinner together - creamy pumpkin soup and lamb ribs with vegetables. After the dinner, I practiced 1 hour yoga, and then went bed around 12.

Lovely!

Annual Dinner

We had a terribly great time yesterday night, the annual dinner is successful. The food, the ambience and all participants were great.

The party got into the climax when the dressing competition started. I dressed in Miss Bee costume and performed collecting pollen, but people supposed I was dancing.

It was really competitive because all opponents dressed in their best way. Judy, who dressed as McDonald even made her big red shoes. Finally, Sam won the Champion by her landlord-in-Kung-Fu-hustle costume and dedicated acting; Freddy was the 1nd runner-up, he was He-Man-in-his-disgusting-hot-pant-and orange-bob-head; and Wai was the third, he wore clown outfit and twisting balloon.

People were bursting into laugh all the time, including our bosses. It was so memorable!!

Dressing Competition

Wow our company will have an annual dinner tonight. Sam and I would join a dressing competition in the party. There will be more than 10 competitors. The winner will get HK$1500 prize.

I get two sets of costume, one is made by my mom - a maid headband and apron, and another set is honey bee. I am still strugging which one I should wear. The main point to win this competition is exaggerating and wacky!

This week is quite relaxing. All reporting had been done in past few weeks and Easter holiday is around already. We will have a long weekend from Mar 25-Mar28.

Big brother Sing's second baby boy will be born this Thursday, hope god bless him and have a wonderful plan in his life.

Mona Lisa Smile

I read a book called 'Mona Lisa Smile'. And yesterday night I also saw its movie which starring by Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Book always better than its on a motion, because it provides you much more details about the background or psychological struggle of every character. But this movie is also very fascinating.

The story is about Katherine Watson, an UCLA graduate accepted a position of Art History Professor at Wellesley College, a prestigious and well known girls school in New London, USA. She did not decide to merge into the delicate tradition of this historical institution, instead, she intended to change their mind. She introduced Modern Arts to students, to encourage them to perceive thing in different perspective. She wanted all girls to be leaders of the future, not the wife of the leaders. She wanted to set the mind of these smartest women in the nation free.

Katherine was proud of her avant garde thinking and dynamic life. However, in the society where the women’s future was determined by a wedding ring instead of their education and effort, she faced lots of obstacles to advocate her idea. Through the interaction with girls and all kind of struggle, she realized that actually the school also helped her to find her own way, she understood that everyone can choose the living way whatever they like. A girl could be a lawyer, and at the same time she could choose to be a full-time housewife, and it did not make her less smart or brainless to be a housewife. Daring to be yourself and trust your choice is the main message I got from this story.

I am not going to tell you the whole story here, because I highly recommend you to see find it and feel it by yourself!!

Microclimate

I wonder how low our office temperature is. The weather outside is cold, but people still switch on the air-con to maximum, why???

I feel very cold and shivering, if the weather maintains low for one or two more days, I am sure I will have depression. Actually, we barely see sunshine these few months. How pathetic.

I poured a whole cup of steamy hot green tea and gripped it in my hand, but after less than 5 minutes, the hot tea turned lukewarm only.

My email notification is annoying, the little envelop sign shows all the time no matter you have or do not have email, I click on it every three minutes to check if I get new message…

I do hate the cold weather, I feel too chilly and crave for calories, and I will fall asleep anytime. It is MARCH now, spring please come back!!

BREAKTHROUGH

With the great help from my mommy, we moved in the new flat successfully on last Saturday. Everyone is amazed to our high turbo effectiveness.

The flat looks even cozier after decorated. We put photos, picture and postcard everywhere; those little green pots brighten the ambience; All cushions, bean bags and carpet match each others seamlessly. I really love this place.

On Saturday evening, my daddy and Meiki also visited us. These one big and one little monster sit at a corner and ate lots of shrimp crackers, potato chips and other snack foods, at the same time, my mom still indulgenced in the ‘wiping’ activities, despite that she had being done it for the whole day. That night, we had dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant nearby where is my daddy’s favorite.

On Sunday afternoon, my parents-in-law and Hin’s family visited us. Lovely Lok Lok B loved our home so much; he played on the carpet the whole afternoon and slept on our bed later. Eventually, my mom-in-law cooked the dinner because I had gone out with Hin to G.O.D. to buy some others household gadgets. But I had still contributed yesterday night; I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen.

This morning I cooked the breakfast for Yuen, I planned to make a semi-raw egg, but…… it turned out became a 90% raw egg, but there is something in this planet called ‘improvement’, right? Next time, I could cook it better!!

Hope all our families had great time! Surely we had!

Mother Nature

Yesterday I saw the program – The Great Warming in Pearl channel. It is a documentary about global warming and natural disaster.

Environmental protection is no longer an avant gaude idea, it is an essential ethnic value which should be tattooed in everyone mind. I’ve read a short ‘scientific’ story when I was very young. It talked about how a kid in 1986 met another kid from 21st century. The future kid told this little boy the planet is deteriorating, in the future world, there is no more smooth spotless white paper because of the deforestation. He also exclaimed that the sky is covered by fog and pollution because of the serious gas emission from factories and vehicles. The meaning behind this fable is very clear.

One of my textbooks stated that in the very soon future, a great number of ‘environmental refugees’ will be appeared. They are the victims of various kinds of natural disasters, such as tsunami, hurricane, drought, flooding and landslide, etc. It seems that all these destructions cannot be avoided, but actually we human being contributes a lot. We damage the nature for our own good, to violate the balance of this complicated yet sophisticated ecosystem, enormous amount of species extinct in unbelievable fast pace, but we are still deluded by the economic development and selfish greed.

How come we obsess so much to GDP growth, even it is just 0.75%? How come we ignore the problem of uneven distribution of wealth and resource? Do we know that some prophecies or ‘scientific fiction’ about the environmental nightmare we had created are already appearing on everyday news?

Mar 8 Women's Day

Today is Women's Day, salute to all women, especially all mothers in this planet, you all support half of the sky.
An inspirational season

Spring oh spring, today the land is rejuvenating, the temperature is rising and the sun is smiling to us. How lovely is today.

However, the weather forecast states raining and chill weather will come back at the end of this week. Hope it will not be as worst as last few weeks.

Last weekend, Jeff and I had done a lot of preparation for the new flat. We bought the TV cabinet, carpet, cushions, kitchenware and other accessories. I feel most exciting to all lovely new plants and pots I got from flower market in Mong Kong. My most favorite pot is the 'Baby grass', I put it in toilet.

I am thinking about buying another stuff animal for my beloved Piglet doll as a companion, I worry 'she' will be lonely on the new bed.

Oh this weekend will be great, and I will invite our parents for a dinner this Sunday, I cook!

Independence Day

A great leap forward to a new milestone. Jeff and I rent a flat and we will move in on March 12.

This will be a totally brand new life for me as this is the first time for me to take care of myself without parents' 'guidance'. Jeff and I aim to have a thrifty but fruitful life. We should share the housework, I should learn how to cook. During weekends, we will spend more time at home to make dessert and wash clothes.

Surely there will be a challenging new life in front of me, I believe I will enjoy it a lot. Believe me, I do not fantasize our independent life, I agree it may take me some time to adapt the new living style, but it is at the same time very exciting.

We are grown up kids, right?
